HISTORY
SWISS KRONO Group's history begins in Switzerland in the 1960s. Ernst Kaindl founds a company in Menznau in 1966 which grows into one of the world's leading manufacturers of wood-based materials in just a few years.
In 1987, the first site is opened in Switzerland in the quaint town of Sully-sur-Loire in France. A few months later, a plant opens in Vásárosnamény, Hungary, still prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. Production started in Heiligengrabe (Germany) in 1992, in Żary (Poland) in 1994 and Barnwell, South Carolina (USA) in 1999. At the turn of the millennium, three production sites open in Ukraine and a plant in Russia.
Today, SWISS KRONO Group is one of eight national companies. The group of companies employs around 5,000 staff worldwide. Their products are distributed in 120 countries.
The values of company founder Ernst Kaindl are still prevalent for SWISS KRONO Group today.
